For over fifty years I have traveled this world telling people one thing. I have said it in arenas and boardrooms, in prisons and church basements, to people at the top and to people who were barely hanging on. I have spoken to rooms of eighty thousand people on one stage. I have never taken one of them for granted and I never will.

And in all that time, I have never done anything like this.

This year the National Speakers Association gave me their 2026 Master of Influence Award. It is the highest honor they give, one person a year since 1993. Art Linkletter received it. Og Mandino received it. Zig Ziglar received it. Those are the men I studied. Their books and their tapes taught me this craft before anybody knew my name. I am honored. I am humbled. I am grateful beyond words. To have my name spoken next to theirs is something that boy out of Liberty City could never have imagined, and I thank God for it every single day.

But do you know what I actually think about?

You.

The people who come up to me afterward and hold onto my hand a little longer. The ones who wait in the lobby to tell me what they are building. The messages that come in at two in the morning from somebody who just decided they are not done yet.

I have met the most extraordinary people in the world doing this work. Hundreds of thousands of you. And for over fifty years I have been meeting you one at a time, in one city, on one night, and then we go our separate ways.

I want you to know what that means to me. Sitting with people that way, answering them directly, has always been reserved for my private coaching clients. I am grateful for every one of them and I always will be. But I do not want that to be the only door.
